About Adam Kurtz
After the dissolution of his Russian tribute band Kino Proby, Portland guitarist / singer Adam Kurtz relearned English and crafted his musical musings into "The Devil is Defeated," a concept album which melodifies the red-flagged befores, precipitous and shaky durings, and optimistic afters of a defining life era. His songs combine acoustic warmth with electric highs, playful and revealing lyrics with layered harmonies, and a sincerity in sound and theme that is rare in these binary times. The album provides more than a few sing alongs, head-bob alongs, and air-guitar inspiring riffs (air-guitar alongs). In concert, Adam performs with an air tight rhythm section, hermitically sealed to prevent the infectious songs from spreading, though so far the preventative measures have been unsuccessful. World Health authorities take note: a melody-borne virus is on the loose.
Adam is currently working on a new album for 2009 and performing around Portland, New England, and New York City.
